Happy Christmas (War is Over) (J Lennon) Jeff covered this well-known John Lennon Christmas piece for a compilation CD called Christmas with the Stars of the 70s Vol 1 (Hey Mr Christmas), released by Jingle Records. The CD contained Christmas songs performed by various artists from the 70s, such as Gerry and the Pacemakers, Suzi Quatro, the Rubettes and Showaddywaddy. Recorded at Academy Studios, Dewsbury, where Jeff produced some of his solo sessions, the track features a nice guitar intro and some excellent vocal work by Jeff, plus backing from a local school choir. Yuletide Lights (J Christie) The concept of the Christmas albums was so popular
that two other volumes were made. On Vol 3 (Rockin'
Around the Christmas Tree), Jeff performs an outstanding self-composed
piece called Yuletide Lights. Again
recorded at Academy Studios, this song was originally called Northern
Lights, but the words were changed to suit the festive occasion. Jingle Records put together a set of songs from the three volumes onto a CD called Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree (A Cool Christmas), and included a new song, Peace On Earth, sung by most of the stars which featured on this project, including Suzi Quatro, Sally Carr and Ray Dorset. Jeff sings on background vocals. Yuletide Lights is also included on this CD. (Happy Christmas first appeared on Thommy's Christmas Party, a double CD compiled by Alan Williams of the Rubettes for his production company AWEL, and presented by a very well-known German TV personality, Thomas Gottschalk.)
