Hey Joe (Jimi Hendrix/Tim Rose)
Jeff notes: "Basically pretty well all the
songs listed were performed sometime or other within
a given time span, excluding Yellow
River and San Bernadino
which were performed continually as they were hits.
Each subsequent single release would obviously necessitate
continual performance to promote it for a period of
time, eg. Man of Many Faces.
Sometimes singles that werent hits at home were
hits in different territories, therefore they would
be included in those places and not necessarily anywhere
else."

Hey Joe
Jeff notes: "The times they were a changing,
and Pauls influence and the fact that he was
a good drummer enabled the band to experiment more
with heavyweight material, much to the chagrin of
manager Brian. So rightly or wrongly we stretched
ourselves, and all jumped together. Heavywas
the currency of the day and many bands had reinvented
themselves and experimented for a while - including
The Beatles. I dont remember having to twist
anybodys arm in the band for this change of
direction. Interestingly, we never played For
All Mankind on stage, as we couldn't spare
anyone to play keyboards."

Jeff notes: "There
were more personnel changes and more different ideas
- fresh blood, fresh input, so to speak. Overall apart
from the usual suspects songwise (hit singles and
current singles), some stalwarts like Positively
4th Street and Tobacco
Road held their team place. Red
Man and Liar*
were songs previously recorded by Capability
Brown, and their members performed the songs when
they joined Christie."
*Liar, written by Russ Ballard,
was also a top 10 hit for Three Dog Night.

Bassist Kevin Moore notes:
"Jeff generally chose the songs for the
set, but we had some input for our "solo"
stuff. Fos, Simon and I have a great knowledge of
the era, and knew stuff like All
Right Now and I Hear
You Knocking dovetailed well with Christie
songs, as they charted around the same time.
I have video of me singing
both the Free song, and the Easybeats' Friday
On My Mind which I sang for a time. The choice
of Sabre Dance to showcase
Fos really paid off with visits to Russia (as it was
written by Katchaturian) and Israel, where we segued
Hava Nagila into it (eagle-eared
listeners may also spot Hall
of the Mountain King and parts of Deep Purple's
Highway Star in there!).
In reference to the older Christie canon, I always
wanted to do Man Of Many Faces,
and I still feel a lot of the others deserve an airing.
In early rehearsals, in addition to Fools
Gold, which we played intermittently, I remember
doing Alabama.
I always adored City
Streets, the Carole King song. In Israel we performed
a number of great tunes I wanted to keep in the set:
Won't Back Down, City Streets,
Jeopardy, Handle With Care, It Don't Come Easy,
Christie really played them well. They seemed to fall
by the wayside, but they were certainly my favourites.
